Prioritizing Flexibility, Accessibility, and Innovation

The architectural design prioritizes flexibility, accessibility, and innovation, incorporating active learning spaces and adaptable classrooms to support a variety of teaching methods.

The facility will include:

• A 300-seat lecture hall, a 180-seat lecture hall, and a 100-seat active learning classroom.

• 23 general-purpose classrooms ranging from 20 to 75 seats.

• Two learning studios and three computer classrooms for technology-driven instruction.

• A central Information Commons, fostering student collaboration and research.

With cutting-edge technology and sustainable design principles, the building will provide a forward-thinking academic environment that enhances student engagement and faculty interaction.

“We really do appreciate the efficiency of the design and the materiality. It’s very sleek and economical. We’re really happy about how this building is efficient in its programs as well.”

- Jeff VanDenburgh, Deputy General Manager, Design and Construction at State University Construction Fund

Future Ready

Scheduled for completion in fall 2027, this new facility will significantly expand Binghamton University’s classroom capacity, addressing the increasing demand for larger lecture halls and flexible learning spaces. By creating an inclusive and future-ready environment, the design ensures that students and faculty have access to modern, interactive learning spaces that support both traditional and progressive teaching methods.
