We are thought leaders when it comes to student life and wrote THE BOOK on student unions. Since 2005, the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) has recognized our expertise with 18 Facility Design Excellence Awards, more than any other architecture firm. Over the past 25 years, we have worked on over 185 different college and university campuses to enhance student living and learning.

Our designs focus on creating spaces that promote both physical and emotional well-being. We take into account users’ experiences from move-in day to the daily activities that support students' healthy balance between study, relaxation, and socialization. Integrating student life programming into residential environments has proven to be successful in creating identity and a sense of community.

Finding a balance between privacy and isolation and interaction and engagement is a constant study in every project.

Designing spaces for learning involves creating flexible, technology-rich environments that foster collaboration and innovation. Incorporating natural light, comfortable seating, and adaptable layouts ensures these spaces support diverse learning styles and activities. We design for a variety of learners including spaces for medical education, engineering, and science and technology. 

We have provided studies and designs for over 90 higher education dining facilities. Our team listens to students, project stakeholders, and staff to develop unique solutions customized to project needs. Designing facilities that highlight the uniqueness of the campus and the pillars of the student experience are ideals at the forefront of every one of our projects.

Our recreation and wellness centers are symbolic of the “body, mind, and spirit” ideology. We understand the profound influence that an environment has on health and wellness and we create uplifting and encouraging spaces. These facilities not only design the space to challenge the body and foster development of self-reflection, but also house activities within an environment that encourages excellence.
