East Stroudsburg University, Hawthorn, Hemlock, and Sycamore Suites

Following the highly successful completion of the new Hemlock and Hawthorn Suites, our team was re-engaged to implement additional new housing for East Stroudsburg. This new residence hall was designed to provide an "upper class" experience for students, with the majority of these new 478 beds being single bedrooms in response to market demand.

These projects were delivered through a Public-Private Partnership (P3).

Social and Study Areas

The new residence hall at East Stroudsburg University is designed to foster both community and versatility. The ground floor houses the dynamic multi-purpose rooms perfect for gatherings of up to 150 people. The first floor is complete with adjacent kitchens for culinary events, meeting rooms for collaborative projects, dining areas for shared meals, and recreation rooms for leisure activities.

Upstairs, the design prioritizes student convenience and engagement with vibrant social spaces, quiet study areas, and modern laundry facilities on every floor. This environment was crafted for social interaction and community, ensuring that students have everything they need to thrive, both academically and socially.

Seamlessly Integrating a New Addition into Campus

The brick and stone-clad building features vertical windows and sloped roofs in keeping with the campus architecture. Walkways with a new courtyard/plaza are provided that integrate this residential facility with the campus core.
